After photographing dozens of proposals across the island, I’ve learned one thing: the best proposals aren’t just beautiful - they’re well planned, natural, and stress-free.

Malta is full of incredible spots, but not all of them work for a proposal.

You want a location that has:

  • Privacy (or at least quiet corners)

  • Good light (time of the day depends on the location)

  • Easy access (no stress on the day)

I always like to start planning by learning what's your vibe. Do you want a cliffside spot? A beautiful garden? Clear skies and blue sea or golden, backlit scene?

All this factors determine what the PERFECT LOCATION FOR YOU and I'm happy to guide you through the selection and help you out in making the decision.

Choose the Right Location (This Matters More Than You Think)

Timing Is Everything

The difference between a good proposal and an great one is light and timing.

Maltese sun is really harsh, especially at mid-day, and this is one of the reasons most proposals happen either in the morning or close to sunset. These time slots always give us the best result, as the light is softer and the direction of the light is much more pleasing.

A surprise proposal only works if it’s actually a surprise.

Here’s how I usually plan it with clients:

  • Exact location pin shared in advance

  • Clear plan of where you’ll stand, where I'll stand, my outfit, your outfits

  • Simple “cover story” (walk, viewpoint, sunset plan)

  • No communication on-site

On the day:

  • I arrive early and blend into the scene

  • Shoot from a distance first

  • Move closer once the moment unfolds

Most couples don’t even notice the camera during the big moment, it's like they are completely in their own world, and that is actually how a surprise proposal should feel like ✨

Plan the Surprise Properly

Short answer: yes (not just because I'm the guy for the job, but because it really matters) 😉

This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment and it goes by fast. Having an experienced proposal photographer means:

  • You actually get to relive it

  • You don’t worry about capturing it

  • Everything is documented naturally

And of course, I know the best spots, timings and I'm always ready to help you out bring your vision to life!
